I haven't been in contact with him since he flew to UK to continue his studies. However, I am aware of his engagement. I would assumed he meant "have you received my wedding invitation?". Well, "No."

Have you ever wondered what the "light at the end of the tunnel" looks or rather feels like?
Well, I did.

I always wonder how my parents would react to a phone call, "Mam/Sir, your daughter... is dead."
How will they take it? How about my friends and relatives?
Will they cry and mourn? If so, how long?
Will I be deeply missed? Or just forgotten like when speckles of dust set adrift by the gentle breeze?
Where would my body go? Where would my ashes go?
Will I still be "awake" to "notice" things?
What is it like after.. life?

Where would my belongings go?
Will my mum decide to keep them as it is in my room? Or give them away or would she bury them along with me... six feet under?

What would happen if I had not gone through that surgery (almost) 8 years ago?
Will I succumb to death earlier? By 30? Like my orthopeadist adviced?
Would I have suffered more now without the spine correction?
If so, how bad?

I guess all of the above don’t matter anymore.

The most important question is, what would have happened if my mum did not enquire the local doctor about the hump on my back?

Since June 1st, my life has totally changed. My routine is not so routine anymore. I no longer take micro shots at life with my Canon instead, I'm taking micro shots of ME. I resolved to sticking to this new life routine for at least 3 years - or until I developed the capacity for extreme lethargy, whichever comes first - before taking someone to take it off of my hands. And that is a big IF I have the moolah. I do not even use my camera phone to snap still life that no matter how uninteresting the object is, I would however, manage to make it full of colours. My days are filled with coffee before work and milk at night with a magazine or book in my hands. Only at this moment that I decided to pen down my next blog.

Every morning I tool around the suburb with a four-seater powered by switchgrass and medidation (I wish!). There were 24 of us in the department currently undergoing training and another 20 plus in another department. Eventhough I am still in a classroom environment filled with computers, cables, mahagony tables, fellow colleagues, and a trainer, I need to see the whole picture with fresh eyes. It's no longer a mundane task with one-sided communication. It's a job that requires much input and related output. And I'm thinking what do I need to ask when the trainer pauses for air. It's a difficult task for the brain, eyes, ears and other sound sensory system and nerves when a listener is a slow-learner, like ME.

With lots of new things going on, I still have ample time at night. The dream of giving back to the society to protect the poor from genocide and from the ruthless from ethnic violence, it might come true. Am such a sluggish humanitarian? At least, I'm thinking of becoming one some day. What about helping Sri Lanka where the Liberation Tigers of Tamil Eelam is one of the world's cruelest terrorist groups and has often deployed child soldier and suicide bombers? (I'm thinkin of Jeff Dunham's Achmed at this moment.)

Or what about joining the space team to take the skies in 2014 floating at zero gravity in the Atlantis space shuttle? I certainly can't oblige to Sheldon's mode of preparation in The Big Bang Theory.

Oh! I learned something. This line would summarise it up, " Sometimes, it's what you don't say that hurts."

What about the recession? Under the new enforced policy in New York City, working families that live in the public shelter will have to turn over a portion of the earnings, in some cases as much as 50%, to cover cost. About 2000 of the 9000 families living in homeless shelter will be affected as the city grapples with a major budget crunch.

Now with so many things in mind and constructive opinions to offer, I just hope I do not need to reboot my core system everytime it went blue screen.

I feel like I'm one of those race track drivers zooming every morning and evening on the freeway. It is tiring at times when irresponssible drivers just cut in, in front of you without even signaling. Everything is so new to me, but I am getting the hang of it. Living in an alien place, Seri Kembangan, with alien housemates while working in another alien place, Cyberjaya, is oh-so-challenging. Every little itsy-bitsy thing, however mundane, is totally on my own. Waking up at 6.45am every morning and leave the house by 8am to get through another day only to reach home by 6.30pm is by far, the most interesting and exhilarating life I have ever live in. I feel like I'm one of those talk-about working adults going about their working life. Well, it is my TIME anyway.

What is more saddening is that I have to leave my best friend, Anna, all alone in Malacca. It is not easy getting used to living the life around strangers. Getting to know new people is a whole new cycle of life. Without even saying a word, you are already being judged by the way you dress, walk, and other non-verbal signs. It just gets more interesting and shocking when you open your mouth to speak. Well, depends on whether the prior judgment is what as expected as after the mingling process. With loads of names to remember, plus a little more added information such as graduate universities and hometowns, I chose to only remember those who appear subtle yet interesting with a room left for the unexpected. So guys and girls, wow me. =)

I do not know when I will go back to Malacca to see my beloved and dearest and closest friend. But I hope it will happen very soon.

The Korean producers of the Korean drama series, Cinderella Man, certainly played their cards right, with the Europeans. Only on the first episode, I have seen a 2007 snow white BMW M6 cabriolet. The German-produced car is said to be the World's Fastest 4-Seat Convertible. This 5.0 liter, V10 baby is a gem. Put the pedal to the floor and it wails a superb exhaust tone when you hit 8,250 rpm line.

Wald's side skirts body kit and Brembo GT 4 piston rear brake kit, 13-inch cross-drilled rear disc rotor.

Wald's rear Apron splitters body kit and quad-tip exhaust system.

With Wald front Apron spoiler body kits and Brembo GT8 piston front brake kit and 15-inch cross-drilled front dist rotor.

Next on the list, it is the BMW F01, or the 7 series. This baby is a 2008 production for the '09 model. I am not too sure whether the one in the Korean drama is the twin-turbo V12 or V8 engine, but it sure looks fine to me. The Germans always improve their iDrive Navigation System (which can be annoying at times when it does not work properly). Then we have the British Bentley. The producers certainly have high-class taste in cars when it comes to the 2007 black Arnage. This fine thang has a 6.8 liter Rolls Royce V8 engine (my mind just went somewhere else) churns out a bhp range of 450 to 500 depending on the version. Bentley will cease its operation in this year though. Bye bye beauty.

What can I expect more from this drama? You and I will just have to wait and see.

I went to Tropicana City Mall for the third time yesterday. I didn't buy anything, just snapped some pictures that I missed during my first 2 visits. My parents, brother and I didn't go anywhere else much because we were there for a purpose.

A Day in Town

Fancy some chinese tea?

After all is said and done, Anna and me found some US time. Class ended circa 10am and we headed to MP. First thing we do is, have lunch at BK. We both have been wanting it for so long. =D One sad thing that had changed at BK is that, there are no more drink refills. The manual refill is only available till June. Oh well, everyone is cutting cost now. I want to find a white formal top from Padini so we headed to DP. I did not only bought a top, but I bought flats as well, from Vincci. =D I had a RM10 voucher from Vincci so I put it to a good use. Huhu..

Then we headed to Nichii where we both tried this tube dress. Being the girls we are, I took some pictures. On the way to Bear Hill, I spotted another Mark X while driving. We headed to Z-Hair to have our routine trim. Anna had her trim. I had a cut. Straight line back! Like in schooling days, only wayyyy better.. so as I say. Haha.. I took the before picture but I have forgotten to take the after. I will soon. So here are the said pictures.

Broken Prison

After 4 seasons to find out that Michael Scofield's mum is or rather was, working for The Company? And that Lincoln Burrows was adopted resulted from his parents who worked for The Company met with an accident? I always know something's fishy because of their different names. This isn't Prison Break anymore, after Season 1, the storyline gets complicated and dull although full of action. But anyway since I'm still following the series, I'm eager to know what Scylla really is apart from it beinf helpful in the future. I also want to know why Scofield and Burrow's mother, Christina Scofield's intention towards Scylla. Is she going to sell it to the highest buyer? And will happen to General Jonathan Krantz? What will happen to Michael and Linc? Will the early pregnancy test of Dr Sara Tancredi approves positive and will she be able to keep it? What will happen to Michael and Sara then, when this is all over? That is a lot of question unanswered. So much anticipation.

Labour Day

I started my day with finishing up my very last assignment given to me and that is my Decision Support Systems (DSS) report. It requires me to find a DSS software that either has one of these elements: data warehouse, data mining, business intelligence (BI), and of course decision support. So after a short research, I picked IBM Cognos 8 BI. The report was completed circa 9am and I proceeded to printing it.

Having a lunch date with Anna at 12.30pm, I set out early to bind and submit my report. Then I received a text message from Anna asking to push lunch to 1pm. I called her and I said I'm already in campus and I will drop by her apartment to spend the extra time.

I wanted to have my lunch at McD as I have not been consuming fast food for 2-3 weeks. But, since it was Labour Day, McD was full as a can or sardines. So we went to Nando's instead. Not-so-lucky Day

Thursday (30th April), it was not a good day for me. It was the day for my Final Year Report (FYP) submission, but that was not the problem. You see, in the FYP guidelines, it is clearly stated that we need to submit TWO light blue cover report (hard copy) and ONE CD (soft copy). At 11am, my reports were ready to be submitted. But as soon as I went to the faculty office, they said I have to submit TWO (freaking) CDs AND bind my research papers together with the report. So, that was fine, as well, as I still have the time to rush home which is 13 minutes away, burn another CD, go to the binding shop to add the additional research paper, in time for my tutorial class at 12pm. I was Mika Häkkinen for a moment and the heat of the day does not help at all. Before I left the house, my mum asked me whether I have taken all that I need and I said with confidence, YES! But I soon learn later that, that was not the case.

So, I rushed back to the binding shop and as I got into the car to drive to campus to resubmit, I found myself searching high and low for the other copy of the CD. I said, "Sh*t! I left the other CD on my computer table! Sherilyn, you are in beyond the valley of forgetfullness." (Mumbling to myself, I hope no one saw me as they would think I had gone cuckoo.) At that instant, I dialled Mum on her mobile phone to ask her if she sees a CD on my table while I know well I left it there. And (cold) truth be told, my purple CD is resting peacefully, probably laughing like a devil at me. That time, it was close to 12pm. I told myself, I can't rush back now, I'll miss the class.

And guess what? I waited in the class for a (stupid) 10 minutes and no one turned up. The reason? You'll probably know. Class was cancelled, not that day itself, but apparently, the tutor told the whole class last week. I went furious but keep my cool. I must not be paying attention to him while he was talking crap in class. Well, crap claimed its victory that day. Smiling down wickedly at me saying, "HA! That's for not listening to ME!". I said, "CRAP!"

By that time, Anna was at the faculty office to submit hers. After that, we went lunch together and this was nearly 1pm. I poured out all my frustration (at myself) to Anna. Being the best bud that she is, Anna was a good listener, she always will be. *smiles*

I headed home after filling my tummy, took my CD and drove straight to campus to re-resubmit. I breathed out a sigh of relief.

Embarking on another life, a working life, is scary for me. Come to think about it, you hold sole responsibility of your tasks. No one to share or take the blame. It is definitely not like internship I experienced last year.

These questions arise from my thoughts as I strolled worriedly at MMU's Career Fair 2009: coulda, woulda, shoulda.

Could I land a job?
And if I landed a job, would I accept it?
Should I accept it based on my interests in that job or just for the sake of owning a stable income?

I can say, this is so much like choosing a partner in life. But back to the issue at hand, I would be grateful if I could get a job in the wake of global recession. Females prefer to play safe. Get a job which promises steady salary. Find a partner that would provide her everything else that she could not (from monetary gains to happiness). But that was last time. Now, on the contrary, women prefer to be independent, which definitely screams ME. And when I say that, it means I will accept the challenges of achieving my goals, the obstacles to achieve my goals, the fear of failing to achieve my/company goals, the risks of uncertainties, and the gender competition.

Of course, with given time and experience, I could achieve all that. But time and experience are not the only factors that could guarantee success. The determination to excel, the will to push myself, and with the right opportunities, an optimal goal could be achieved.

Above all, no matter how strong you are, men and women, fear is still a number one factor. Emotion can take over anything.

Career Fair is organised with Consumer Fair as well. So commerce businesses such as BodyShop, Air Asia, etc. participated in the event. For so long, I wanted my Lavender Body Mist from BodyShop but I was told that they stopped its production cause it is an old product. How can a product gets old when it is something that consumers adore?! *grrrr* I had no choice but to try a different scent. And my pick is Cassis Rose. It has this very sweet rosy smell. So, next time this scent comes into your nostrils, you'd know it is ME. Hahaha..

In another ocassion, I found an aged van near Pantai Hospital. I am unable to detect what species it is. Might be Ford, but I'm not too sure. Pop the hood mister. (Taken with my Z610i)

When my brother went to Sepang International Circuit last 2 weeks to book the circuit for vehicles drive tests, he stopped at the souvenir shop and bought some stuff. He bought himself a polo shirt and a lanyard. Being the thoughtful brother that he is, he bought his lovely sister a polo shirt and a lanyard as well. Cost of the shirt? close to RM70 and Rm10 for the lanyard. Geez!

My brother said that the shirts are all small in sizes. So, he picked 'L' for me, which is for major cuts, is not my size. But this suits me perfectly well. Love it! Thank you Ko! =D

Who was I to kid? Everyone gain and lose weight one time or another. Same case goes here. I had a period around a year ago where I just eat (not overeating) but I didn't work out. So, as you can guess, I gained, 5kg. I know, that's a lot.

I was telling myself, I need to get back to my original weight and then maybe lose some more. I cannot continue eating and not exercising, it's not healthy. All the calories will be comfortable living at my bum, my hips, my arms, and my tummy. NOOOO! I've got to change.

So I decided to go back to my workout regime, only this time, I do more. I have been busting my butt for 5-6 days a week continously and I changed my dinner diet. For 10 weeks, I lost 3kg. I said to myself, "WOW! You're doing great. Keep it up."

But it's been 12 weeks now and I have not lose any. My weight is still the same. So, I must be doing something right (to keep the extra weight off), but somehow it's not enough.

Anyone can suggest something else to add to my regime? =D

Oh, and a word (or two) for those who are sick and tired of their weight and dreaming of losing some pounds but just could not get yourself to start, just walk with a friend in the evening for let say 20 minutes. Or you could walk your dog. That's a start. =)

Pulau Redang?

The semester break is around the corner and my friends and I are planning for a beach vacation. We might settle for Pulau Redang, but unsure whether to take the 3 days/2 nights or 4days/3 nights package. Anna and I have been scouting around for cotton beach dresses and here are the two that I found in the Reject Shop.

It's halter dress. My favourite! =D

I just came back from a 65-minute brisk walk. Definitely more than my usual routine. Around the same amount of time I finished my 10 km Charity Run about a month ago. *exhausted*

Nyonya Delicacy: 'Kuih Ku'

My mum made kuih ku this morning. This is definitely one of my favourites beside kuih koci. My mum made the filling and natural colouring earlier on. The filling is mostly green beans. As for the shiny black colour of the delicacy, the colour first comes from a plant. The only thing this plant bears is leaves. When the leaves are old enough, it will be plucked, cleaned, and dried. It is easily crushed when it's totally dried up (still maintaining it's dark green colour) which is made into small rounded balls. Then these mashed leaves will need to be cooked. The cooked mashed leaves will then combined with 'tepung pulut'. There is a mould to shape the delicacy.

Yet to be steamed. As you can see, it's not black yet. It is the colour of the leaves. Moulded kuih ku will be put on cut banana leaves.

These are how it looked like after 12-15 minutes of steaming. Ready to eat. Nyum nyum!

Some home-makers will use the artificial red colour for sale. Even the black colour comes in powder form.

I first spotted the Nissan Navara LE in Bukit Beruang more than a month ago in Supreme Black. I didn't have the chance to snap a picture then as both parties were in motion. Fortunately, I had the chance to be up-close and personal with another Navara LE when I was visiting Jaya Jusco.

The 4x4 twincab is the most powerful pick-up truck in Malaysia. It became available on November 5th last year, in Malaysia's market sold by Edaran Tan Chong Motor. Unlike the Frontier, Navara only comes in 5-speed automatic transmission. What I am amazed is that, with its 2.5L diesel churning 174hp at 4000rpm and 403 Newton meter at 2000rpm, this beasty baby is the most forceful in the 2.5L twincab 4x4 segment. Added with 16-inch wheels, this beauty is majestic. =D

One thing I know now is that I was wrong in saying that Frontier is being replaced by Navara. Navara is being offered as another option besides the Frontier which is renamed to DD2. It is still in the market but with limited quantities. The Navara is larger and bolder than the Frontier though. It is not a compact pick-up truck anymore. Even the Toyota Hilux is defeated. Downside is, the Navara is harder to park. And there were a few problems reported in the Australian market that the fan is made from a plastic substance and it is easily damaged. This 4x4 twincab is being sold for AUD50,000 and the cost to fix the fan? AUD24,000. But that is in the foreign market.

With a torque of 403Nm, Navara has officially come close to 335i beemer and the new M3. Talking about performance and speed. Me likey!

For the exterior, Navara is probably the first of its kind in Malaysia to be equipped with Xenon HID headlamps which according to Edaran Tan Chong Motor that it is JPJ approved. The lamps are also height-adjustable. Cool. The Navara has a gallant and aggressive look I must say. Its steel body incorporates bold grille and distinctive angular lines.

As for the interior, the seats and doors are lathered with leather. With the dashboard being dark beige and light beige seats, it looks like Latio. It has 2 glove compartments, ample storage space by the doors and arm rest in the cabin.

This baby comes in 3 colours: Supreme Black (like the one I took), Twilight Grey, and Tungsten Silver.

Yesterday, I spent an hour at the gym, and another 30 minutes for aerobics. I had to come out early from that class because Anna and Fiqa were waiting for me to take a look at Epul's newborn kittens. 3 of them: 2 black fur and 1 white fur. They are a week old and eyes are still close shut. We played with them for a bit and here are some images and a video. (Excuse for the bluriness due to dark area and constant uncontrolled movement.)

I was a crew member of MMU's Autoshow 2 years ago. The line-up was amazing with awesome drifters including Malaysian's own Tengku Djan and his Potenza team. This year, I was dissapointed. Why? Well, it all comes down to poor management. I see lesser crew members on the tracks. Responds were slow with only a handful of what they call "Security" teams on hand looking out for rolling tyres and flinged cones. The ONLY thing I was proud of was one of the Honda Civic exhibits was a Type-R. That made me smile far and wide, from ear to ear. No kidding, it was hurtful.

As for the drifters line-up, I see a new gender added to the team, a FEMALE. She owns a Nissan S15. Not being gender biased, but she's the ONLY drifter who was consistent throughout the praciting rounds. No tyre-hitting, no cone-bumping. Anyway, the drifting competition was from 2pm-4pm. Sadly, I had to go home as mum was waiting for me to have lunch with her. But it was a good decision to go home because it rained after that. I bet the drifters and on-lookers were dissapointed.

Vintage and modified cars were exhibited in a carpark ground beside Subaidah. '07 crew members said this is an achievement for their part. Apparently, they did invite the owners to exhibit their cars back in 2007. It was either not many responded or the event was not attractive enough. But I can tell them that they missed a whole LOT! *beaming*

Beemer M3 (4th Gen)

Pak Cik have been telling Anna about 2 M3's roaming in Bukit Beruang. Those babies are registered in Malacca. I wanted so much to witness the black beasts and I was lucky to see of 'em after gym just now, the coupe version. YES! Called Anna right away. *chuckles* I was so enthused I screamed "M3! M3!" that Anna didn't know what the pebble was I saying. This is the 4th generation of BMW M3. It comes as sedans (E90), coupes(E92), and convertible (E93).

The run down:

What gives?

Note: I have been having problem with my internet connection since last Thursday (02.04.09). My ADSL light keeps blinking indicating unstable link. This started to happen when my landline phone became defunct last Thursday. My mother called TM at 1000 hours. Circa 1700 hours, my mother received a call from the respective TM technician to say that everything is okay now. She tried the line and it was working as usual. Right after that, we received no connection from Streamyx. Called them again, 4 times. They said they suspect the sent technician did something to mash up the internet connection. I said, “Even a 5 year-old could figure that out!” What have they done by the 3^rd call? This fellow said they are still trying to track down the technician who was responsible for repairing our landline. WTF???!!!! Why don’t you just send someone expert to the crime scene while locating that bloody a** bastard??? Sigh.. the weekend past and I am literally bored to death.

Last Saturday, my brother, cousin brother and I went to Dataran Pahlawan’s GSC to catch the 4^th installation of “Fast & Furious”. (If I am not mistaken, these are the movie names chronicle: The Fast & The Furious; Too Fast, Too Furious; Fast & Furious: Tokyo Drift; Fast & Furious – I watched all 4). This installation sees the comeback of the original The Fast & Furious cast: Vin Diesel, Paul Walker, Michelle Rodriguez, and Jordana Brewster (Chuck). You can see that the Nissan R34 is a right-hand drive as US never really import that car into the country. By the look of the ending, there is a definite for a 5^th installation.

The movie started at 1530 hours and ended around 2 hours later. We were supposed to head home but it was raining cats and dogs and our car was parked far outside of the building (blame on the weekend shoppers traffic). So, we decided to chill at Starbucks and I ordered my favourite Caramel Macchiato. Since it was a cold day, I like ‘em hot. No cute baristas, move on.

At 1800 hours, the rain died down and we walked like we have been followed by an unknown and unseen black shadow to the car. Come darkness, my uncle and aunt came to fetch all of us to have a steamboat dinner at QBest, near Kota Laksamana. The price is RM13 per head besides additional orders. Chinese tea is free. We ordered for 5 persons and that was enough to feed 6 mouths.

Racing with my imagination

In the peak heat of the day, I decided to get some power nap. Not long, my eyes went shut (Damn! It is easier to sleep during the day than during the night.). As I drifted further into my REM stages, my imagination side of the brain runs wild. It starts to get its daily exercise on life. Not my life, but the brain’s. It has perfect control over my body.

As soon as my brain starts to go to work, I found that I was driving my mum’s car on the street road heading towards the general hospital’s 4-junction traffic light. I was just gliding through the blazing hot sun with a Lauren Conrad-type sunglass when suddenly a Ferrari F430 Scuderia past by me in a flash. I am the only one in my family who will initiate racing madness with strangers on the road, no matter whether I am in a good or bad mood, hot or cold, traffic or no traffic. And this is no exception. My brain told my foot to put more weight on the throttle and ZOOM I went.. well, with the car of course. I was coming from Tesco’s direction and there is a flyover on the right. And I am not supposed to follow the right lane. But I did, just because my adrenalin (and my very imaginative brain) told me to chase that red hot chili pepper with wheels. Now, to remind you, I did not notice who the driver is. It does not really matter to me whether my self-named opponent is a male or female, Caucasian/Asian/Latino/Latina, etc. I just find the thrill in racing with an alive Jane/John Doe.

Out of the sudden, the flyover ended with a tol booth (now, where did that come from Brain? It is not in the freaking map!). (At this point, I decided to give my brain a name. But not sure what yet…) There was a junction to the left and I was supposed to turn into it because I do not want to get into another, in this case, unknown state that my brain has created. But noooo… my heart says NO! But my brain who has the control to every existing muscle in my body says otherwise. So, I was hoping that in between the opposite lanes after this booth, there will be an opening for me to do a U-turn back to where I came from before I noticed that striking red jalapeño. And fortunately, there was an opening. I sighed a relief.

To my surprise, a little Indian boy (like the one from Slumdog Millionaire) is the one working in the booth. Now I have nothing against Indians or little kids. Nor I’m a sick pedophile. I rolled down the windscreen and small fingers attached to an arm came towards me.

The little boy asked, “Where’s your chip?”

I said, “What chip?”

Little boy: “The chip for you to be able to pass through this red and white bar. *pointing towards it.*”

I said, “I didn’t receive any chip when I came through. Is this some kind of a joke?”

The little boy looked at me disgusted by my actions. He expressed a face that says I ruined his fun-filled day collecting chips at this lovely and comfy booth of his. Then he turned to look inside of the booth and another face popped beside him. He looked adult. With army hair and tight jaw. Lean with an oblong face. He was in a dark blue suit.

Me: (Oh geez.. He is an official personnel.)

Angry-looking officer: “You, miss, where is your chip?”

Me: “I do not have it, sir. As what I told the boy. *pointing at him*”

Angry-looking officer: “No no! No chip, no GO!”

Me: Here I was, trying to figure out the nationality of the brute-looking officer when he spoke to me. I tried and tried to search in my tacit knowledge repository, but zero results came out. His accent is just out of this world. Maybe he’s an alien. Like the ones in the movie, “Race to Witch Mountain”.

I was already sweating like nobody’s business in the scorching heat. I was shaking and trembling for fear I will be accused for something I did not do. Like lying to a police officer and that my accomplice is hiding in my trunk with marijuana given as a gift from Mr Snoop Doggy Dog while partying wildly at his crib in L.A.

As soon as he was stepping out the booth where he was a resident temporarily with a black-scary-looking baton, my alarm rang.

I am well aware that the ending is such a turn off. But what can I do? It ended just like that. One thing is for sure, my brain is frustrated and angry with me. I am sure it will throw a tantrum tonight.

A Fine Day for Secret Recipe

Today was a pretty sunshiny day and I craved for SR cakes. So I called up my partner in crime to join me and to my delight, she said yes. We thought we would have lunch at some other place before feasting on the yummy delicious bud-tasting cake. My lunch choice was 'Ikan Pari Bakar' while Anna's was Chicken Teriyaki. After an hour or so, I went on running shoes scouting activity. I like the colour and pattern, weight, etc. but it did not have the size that best suit my feet. So, I was despair (exaggerating). While we were walking past one of the shops, can't recall the name offhand, Anna noticed Karen Mok's perfume advertisement against the shop's window. And that made us decided to put our right foot in the shop following our left foot, right foot, left foot... no hands.. Anyway, I sprayed a small amount of Karen Mok's perfume on my left wrist and to my (and Anna's) surprise, it smelled good. Fruity and refreshing. I asked the salesgirl who was standing in our circumference, not taking her eyes of our itchy hands, how much is it. And she said, "aaa this one ar.. it's RM 113 for 30 ml." Okay, thanks for the info. Then we glided down a flight of stairs to accomplish what we came for, secret recipe cakes!

I ordered the sugar-free moist chocolate cake and Anna ordered Apple Crumble Cheese cake. RM6.50 and RM6.30 respectively. Both of us were pretty satisfied with our afternoon choice but were unable to finish 'em. Then, I went to Anna's place to chill till 6pm. Went to the gym afterwards.

A Shot at Nature

Friday: With only one thing in mind, and that is to get enough rest for a 3-hour drive the following day, did not seem to materialise. Despite going to bed early feeling shoulder pains (result from sitting too long), my eyelids just would not shut. While I was thinking of ways to make my eyes tired and signal my brain to shut off partially for the night, I remembered one particular imaginary dream I had a few nights ago (I can't disclose it here, sorry). But in the mean time, I decided to pick up my latest Discovery Channel magazine and read on the article, "Bite That". It is about the dentistry profession and practice since the 2700 BC. History is pretty scary, I must say. Dentists in Pakistan drilled into the teeth of live patients circa 7000-5500BC. Yes, it was very much painful. And yes, they have discovered skulls to prove it. Believe me, it was not much of a pleasure reading that and I am certainly more alive than 15 minutes before. Next article did not help me to sleep much either.

After a while, my eyes felt tired from reading so I decided to switched off the light. *Blink blink* *blink blink*. Oh damn, I need a freaking sleeping pill!!! In the end, I dozed off. Somehow, I think my brain was arguing with my eyes and all other body muscles and melatonin to not tell them to sleep, because, I was awaken at 4am. *Grrrr...* After less than 3 hours of sleep, a heating debate started again! Brain says, "NO NO NO! No Sleep". Eyes says, "F***ing ball of veins and useless nuts! Get me to BED! NOW!" And I had trouble going back to sleep. But, soon, I was in stage N2 of my REM sleep. Phew!

Just when I'm about to step into my stage N3, my alarm rang. 6AM it says. With a groggy (not horny like Tata Haresh, LOL) face, I took a hot bath in the seemingly Siberian cold water. Coffee is a must and combined that with a few pieces of Munchy's Cream Crackers. While I was enjoying my crack of dawn breakfast, Mum was preparing fried noodles to bring along our journey.

Saturday: Now, I have not mention where are we (my mum and I) heading to. Our destination: Karak, Pahang. It is where my dad is obligated. At exactly 7.45am, my mum roared the engine putting her right foot on the gas throttle. We had a plan. She will drive to Gemencheh which takes 60 minutes to reach and I will take over for the rest of the journey (which takes another 120 minutes). As frequent Karak goers are well aware, there are no freeway for us to be satisfied with a sleepy head, one full gas tank, and enthuse. So, we are left with no second option but to take the 'kampung' road. The journey is 167km away. Instead of reaching under 120 minutes, it took us 180 minutes to reach. Why? Blame it on the snake-like roads, winding and ever 90 degrees bends, holes, rough surfaces, farm as well as wild animals (monkeys, behemothic lizards), and last but not least, roadkills. Oh, and not forgetting the human factor. They were slow motorists (too slow) and dare devils. Stick to your own lanes! Geez!

I managed a 5th gear with 90-95km/h. At times, I have to be satisfied with a 3rd gear with 30-40km/h (GO FIGURE! The bends are really really sharp and continuous, one after another. Makes anyone dizzy.). Upon arriving at my dad's house, my palms were trembling from the very rough roads and limitless sharp bends. After unloading bags and items from the car, we set off to Karak town to wait for my 18 months elder brother. We agreed to meet at the Petronas petrol station. The day proved to be better, both parties rendezvoused at the same exact time. Great! Lunch awaits in one of the food places in town and we headed back to my dad's pad after a fulfilling tummy.

My dad has subscribed television installed. My brother and I were glued. We took pictures of the place and I will soon upload it here and in my Facebook profile.

Fast forward to Sunday. We went to Karak town to have breakfast. Then we continued our inquisitive journey to Mentakab which is less than 60 minutes away from Karak town. After spending about half an hour (not much to see), we headed back to my dad's place. Lunch awaits.

As the sky is getting gloomy and somber, my mum and I started packing up for home. My brother did the same. At 2.07pm, we cruised home. It was not at all a pleasant journey. In addition to the ever winding road, it was raining cats and dogs. Lucky me, it was not throughout the trip. Home sweet home at last, we arrived at 4.50pm. Around 15 minutes shy away from the targetted duration.

Restoran Sup Lembu Tangkak

My mum ajak me for lunch at this new makan place called 'Restoran Sup Lembu Tangkak' in Bukit Cina. There is one in Jasin, we used to go there in my high school days. This shop is open from 8.30am till 5pm. And yup, it's HALAL. Since it's new, the place is clean and I love the marble coffee tables. Prices are RM5 (small), RM6 (medium), and RM8 (large). Only one problem, there are not many parking spots here.

After my morning class ended last Friday, I went straight home. I packed my frequently-used things into my backpack and waited for my relatives to fetch my mum and me. At 10.20am, they arrived, and we set off to KL. There was a jam at Pedas-Linggi area and we were stucked for 15 minutes. The best thing was, I saw a Nissan GT-R! A RED one coming on the opposite direction on the freeway. 4th GT-R close-up. At around noon, we arrived at Casa Damansara 2. After a short rest, all of us went to Tropicana City Mall on foot, which only took us 5 minutes to reach. GSC is opening soon, yeay! =D

Later in the evening, after my brother came back from work, we went to SS2 for dinner. My brother and I went again to Tropicana City Mall because I want to search for 'The Host' from Stephanie Meyer. And I got it! From Borders (Neither Popular or MPH have this book yet). Hooooorayyyyyy!!! Plus my brother paid the book for me.. another cheer! *giggle*. Oh! And I bought March edition of Juice.

The next day, which is a Saturday, we went to Rawang, my relatives place. They shifted to their new home so we paid a visit. We had lunch together at Kam Hee Restaurant.

At circa 6.30pm, we arrived at KLIA. My uncle checked in and spent a moment saying our goodbyes. After he boarded the plane, Malacca is our next and final destination for the day.

When I was out for 13 hours on Friday the 13th (second time in a year... so far)

I woke up at 6.25am with groggy face. The 'BEST' part was, it rained 10 minutes later (secretly growling). I had coffee and a shortbread while watching The Biggest Loser (what a tease). It rained so heavy that I was stuck at the Pantai Hospital's traffic light twice (tunggu dua kali tau.. more than 99 seconds, dah la nak terkencing.. aduh~ tahan jer la). It took me 10 minutes more that usual to arrive to campus. More than half of the class was not there because of the pouring rain.

At 9.30am, we were dismissed. Anna and me went back to her apartment to chillax. We went out at nearly noon to JJ to buy ingredients for our home-cooked lunch, Beef Kebab (there will be pictures, even steps, just hold on to your seats). About less than 2 hours after shopping (aper tak nye 2 jam kat situ, me nak pilih comforter set pun cik mia susah - thanks Anna for deciding for me between the Akemi and Liv), we went back to her apartment (where I spotted a cun-melecun white Mark X) and start cooking. The recipe is...

Ingredients:

1 Yellow onion, sliced

1 Cinnamon (kayu manis)

1 Star anise

Beef/chicken (umm.. agak sendiri la brapa banyak nak letak, hehe..), sliced/minced

1 Beef cube

Peas (small can)

Pita bread

Butter (optional)

Cream cheese (optional)

1 Medium tomato, diced

Olive oil

Method:

1. Heat olive oil in a pan. Put in yellow onion. Fry till slightly brown.

2. Throw in cinnamon and star anise. Add in sliced beef.

3. Put in beef cube and stir till beef turns brown. Let it simmer till beef is tender.

4. Remove from heat. Served with tomatoes and pita bread (with butter and cream cheese).

After lunch, we had strawberries for dessert. I just like the plain soury taste of it but Anna ate 'em with chocolate syrup (masam katenyer). After hanging around a lil' more, I went home around 6pm.

At 6.50pm, I went out again with parents and relatives for dinner in Tengkera. Yup, you're right, it's the 'Handsome Restaurant'. I'm just stuffed right now (macam ular sawa baru makan habuan yang besar giler... LOL).

2009 Lexus RX350

Lexus claims benchmark improvements in innovation, safety, performance, comfort and efficiency. The proof of the pudding of course will be in the … er… driving, but Lexus is clearly working hard on the features, level of specification and dynamics across all of its model range.

This 3.5 litre V6 engine RX350 is an upgrade of the previous 3.3 litre V6 engine RX330. A 6-speed electronically controlled automatic transmission, replacing the old 5-speed unit, is mated to the V6 and also provides sequential shift functionality.

Lexus launched their latest RX350 on 10th March. But on Monday, my brother and his team of experts drove 2 of those babies in one day, in 3 states.... on 9th March. So here are some pictures:

A day out for pizza

It's Wednesday and what to do? EAT! Well, I have been eating healthy dinner everyday (wholemeal bread with tuna and tomatoes, sometimes with baby carrots for snack). So, to reward myself (since I suke sangat pizza), I called up the girls for some pizza. Another reason was to use my SMS PIzza Hut Promotion that I received a few days back, and today is the last day for its validity. The text message goes like this:

"Buy 1 Free 1 @ Pizza Hut! Buy Large Supremes Pan pizza @ RM28.90, FREE Large Crunchy Family Fav. pizza worth RM25.90. Call 1300-88-2525. 13Feb-11Mar09. Quote 'VL' "

(Don't get ahead of me guys...)

Sounds tempting right? So, I said, why not use it? I picked up 2 of my friends and another friend joined in later. We arrived around 1.30pm. After we were seated by the (new) waiter, I showed him the text message. *a moment to read*. Then he said, "Oh, this one is take away." I said, "What did you say?" *curse Pizza Hut silently*. Kat dalam sms tu tak pun cakap take away ke dine in ke.. aduh.. but dah duduk, so tak nak buat malu, order jer la.

Anna and me ordered 'Sensasi Delight Set 4' which consists of 2 Personal size pizza, 2 sodas, 2 chicken soup, and garlic bread. We chose 'Waikiki Paradise' and 'Tropical Chicken' as our toppings (bukan OUR as in OUR toppings.. bukan atas kepala.. atas pizzzzaaaa...). Sherin and Adelin chose another set which consists of the same as mentioned portion but one pizza comes with Cheesy Lava crust. Those toppings were 'Waikiki Paradise' and 'Thai Chicken'. Our (new) waiter has the tendency to say 'eh' at the end of every sentence. We find it funny and I could not hold my giggle.

We were unable to finish our portions, so leftovers were packed. Gerak back home around 3pm. I still have 2 hours till my class starts. So, Sherin and I went to the library. I did short notes for DSS for a bit then I headed to class.

Charity Run

After coming back from The Jetty, I tried to sleep. But all I could do was blink. I was saying to myself, "C'mon Sherilyn, you need the rest for the run!" I slept off around 2.30am. At 5.55am, *Common's Make My Day*, *snooze*. Woke up, turned off the alarm. Switched off the porch light, security alarm, back light and I had myself prepared for the run. 6.55am, started the car engine, drove towards MMU. Arrived circa 7.10am. There were a few Singapore cars, participants, and EngSoc society who were still setting up at that time. Registered myself and waited for my friend. 30 minutes passed, more and more participants came and still no sign of my friend (maner plak budak nih.. ishk.. lambatnyerrr..).

He finally arrived at nearly 8am (grrrr...). The announcers said to register ourselves and take a seat for the officiating ceremony by the mayor's representative. I took a look around and they were less familiar faces (maybe cause I tak kenal Engineering students). They were veterans as well and a girl with a puppy on a leash. It seemed like the puppy is more ready for the run than some of us. It's Women's Day today and we received a round of cheers. The director for the run has bad English and grammatical mistakes *roll eyes* (buat malu MMU je). Then it was time for the mayor's representative to speak. He's stumpy and has white hair. The 3 guys sitting in front of us who I believe are Singaporeans said this, "For all you know, he's the driver for the mayor." *roll eyes* (I do not know either). Anyhow, he said that we should have started earlier, which I totally agree. Then the ribbon-cutting ceremony ended.

At exactly 8.30am, the run started. I started off fine. But got tired after about 10 minutes and I started brisk waslking. My friend was ahead of me. The path was from MMU's President Square to MITC's roundabout and back (approximately 10km). When I reached the roundabout, I was given a bottle of water and a coupon-like paper at the checkpoint to proof that I have been there. At UG's junction, Pak Cik and Anna were in the car. What a lovely surprise. They were on their way to BP. My friend and I arrived after 60 minutes of running and walking. I finished at 35th placing (out of 200 plus).

After the participants were back, the prize giving ceremony started at around 10.30am. The first place winner completed his run in 45 minutes (we were so close). Prizes were given up to the 11th place winner. And there were 5 lucky draws. The closest that I got to was the number '003' (my number was 002, taken from the receipt). I headed back, showered, had lunch, and took a 3-hour nap (geez that was long! Tak cukup tido kan...).

All in all, it was a hearty and healthy event. I was excited that I was part of it. =). All I need is a mental picture of it all. =D

P/S: To Engineering Society, it was indeed a good deed that your society is organising such events for charity as well as for the health benefits of the participants. But please, make it earlier next time. At 6.30am would be just fine. The heat was just killing us.

At around 3pm, I received a text message from Anna asking whether I'm interested in going to The Jetty. But, I'm supposed to have dinner with my relatives at the same place that I went last Tuesday ('Leng Chai' Resturant in Tengkera). So I said, "Me, tak jadi pegi makan la.. mo pegi jetty ngan Anna." She was nagging afterwards, of course. At around 9pm, Anna and Pak Cik fetched me along with another friend of Pak Cik's. First stop: Pak Putra. I had capathi and Chicken Vindaloo. Love it! It was a full house!

A Final Glimpse...

Hey guys,

It has been a while since my last post. I just do not have any thing interesting or even mundane (to say the least) to publish. With that being said, I had a crazy week since last Saturday. Why? Non-stop jogging/aerobics/cardios till yesterday. I was suppose to jog at 'Hutan Rekereasi' today but the weather ain't very promising. Instead, I wiped my car, dusted the insides, cleaned the mat, sprayed Febreeze (baru beli kat JJ pagi tadi, Anti-Bacterial kate labelnyerrr..) while Anna was having so much fun sitting at the Car Wash shop (sorry Anna hehe..), and jumped rope. It's just that I find it a waste of money AND water when you ask someone else to do it for you. Look at the benefits you will get when you do it yourself: water usage reduction (bole pakai air hujan - though not advisable due to level of acidity, recycled water - by this I mean, if you have big ass water filter for your home, you need to do regular/weekly backwash, so this little brownish water can be used to wash your car or water the plants, whatever you like.. macam T.I. plak), you get your calories burn, you will smile - this gesture is either the sign of satisfaction or you're happy that someone else is helping you and both of you are making jokes (takkan senyum sorang2 plak la kan.. nanti orang cakap "aper giler ke budak nih, senyum tak tentu pasal"), and best of all, you will not waste a single minute by waiting at the car wash. Plus, when you smile, the pleasure receptors in the brain releases endorphins. This endorphins promote a sensation of well-being and contentment. Oh and another plus, if you have been wanting to eye that hunky/blondie in your neighbourhood who usually jogs at around 6.30pm, you could well get another chance to do that. Now, maybe you will have the guts to smile to him/her. I'm JUST saying...

I've been wanting to make me potato salad. Now that I have found the easiest way to prepare it, all I need is mayo (for I have all the other ingredients needed). I'll do it next week.

So, since I am in my final term, my university allows the graduating students to publish their pictures in the Sigma yearbook. I liaised with the person-in-charge for taking the photos around campus and walla! those pictures below are the results.

I would not jog tomorrow as I need to rest my leg/foot muscles for the 10km charity run this Sunday. Guess what? I have to be at the starting point at 7am to register my number. Geez!

Why? Class was supposedly from 4-6pm but it always ended earlier, like 5.10pm early! So, since I was already in my working out attire, I headed to the MMU field, read my Reader's Digest for 10 minutes. The weather was so nice to not be tempted to jog. And that was what I did. Jogged for 20 minutes. Then, off to aerobics plak. Another 60 minutes there. Whole body is feeling the after-shock. Need a rest...

Well, well, well... Vios owners will have more than a mere spoiler to look forward in the near future. The TRD (Toyota Racing Development) will soon make their 'devilious' parts for sale. These parts will not only be just cosmetic, but parts that will allow drivers to go faster (I'm tempted already).

These parts include:

personalised body kit
sports wheels
suspension parts
exhaust systems
sports seat (forget Recaro, they cost nearly RM 15K for a couple of bucket seats)
sports air filter (oh goodie!)
radiator caps
brake pads
TRD gear knobs, among others which will be developed over time

You might ask, what about the availability of the parts? Fear not, under the eyes of UMW Toyota Motor, you can expect more of these parts in Malaysia.

So, umm.. a reliable source (my brother) had drive tested the moded Vios S on the Sepang Circuit a few weeks ago. Here's the breakdown...

Vios S

Top speed: 195km/h
Engine: 4 cyls, 1497cc
Power: 107bhp at 6,000rmp
Torque: 141Nm at 4,200rm
Gearbox: 4-speed auto

Vios J (fitted with RM15K Recaro bucket seats)

Top speed: 195km/h
Engine: 4 cyls, 1497cc
Power: 112bhp at 6,000rmp
Torque: 141Nm at 4,200rm
Gearbox: 5-speed manual
Good: It's a mad, bad Vios; Strong front end grip; and mods do not affect warranty (yeay!).
No Good: Suspension is too hard; Slim-fit Recaro seats are tough to get in and out of.

Fingers crossed that the all new modified Vios S and Vios J will bring more power and fuel efficiency.

Something mysterious was happening in the South Wales recently.

Control: "South Wales Police, what's your emergency?"

Caller: "It's not really. I just need to inform you that across the mountain there's a bright stationary object."

Control: "Right."

Caller: "If you've got a couple of minutes perhaps you could find out what it is? It's been there at least half an hour and it's still there."

Control: "It's been there for half an hour. Right. Is it actually on the mountain or in the sky?"

Caller: "It's in the air."

Control: "I will send someone up there now to check it out."

Caller: "Ok."

Officers were duly dispatched to the scene and were radioed by the expectant controller.

Control: "Alpha Zulu 20. This object in the sky, did anyone have a look at it?"

Officer: "Yes, it's the moon. Over."

BMW 3-Series Convertible

So it is the first BMW with a retractable hardtop. Introduced in 2007, there is no major changes in 2008. This convertible is perfect for 2 persons to go for a drive around or a vacation when the weather permits. It's available initially 325i and 335i guises, and followed by smaller engine variants and diesel-powered models. The engine and chasis are the same as the 3-series coupe, what is different is, it gives up a little weight and luggage room in return for the 'fun of top-down motoring in an all-season automobile.' Both the 325i Convertible and the 335i Convertible come as standard with a 6-speed manual gearbox. A new 6-speed automatic transmission featuring steering wheel-mounted gearshift paddles first shown on the 3-series coupe can also be specified.

This 3-series features BMW's first electronically operated folding hard-top roof. In 2009, the 328i model is being introduced. It is also the first car to be offered seat-cooling leather and a brace of all-new power plants. Ergo, the only difference between 328i and 335i is the power plant. The 328i uses BMW's normally aspirated 3-liter inline six, offering 230 hp at 6,500 rpm and 200 foot-pounds of torque at 2,750 rpm. Power is transmitted to the rear wheels through a standard six-speed manual transmission - a six-speed automatic with rapid-action Steptronic gear selection is optional.

The 335i uses BMW's new 3-liter inline 6-cylinder with twin turbochargers, high-precision fuel injection, and all-aluminum crankcase. Producing an enviable 300 hp and comparable 300 pound-feet of torque, the 335i is capable of zero to 60 in a very sporting 5.5. seconds and cruising at 75 mph at half its red-line limit (I'm in the clouds).

BMW said that storage space is being maximised, with the roof up, the boot provides 350 litres of storage and 210 litres with it down (the folding hardtop adds circa 500 pounds to the car compares to the 3-series coupe - but fret not, this has no impact on fuel efficiecy, so as they say).

The interior offers the same functional elegance for which BMW has become known. The front seats are exceptionally comfortable and supportive on corners, while the rear seats are adequate for two adults for short distances. The folding mechanism takes up a little trunk space, however the the back seat can be folded down to offer a kind of luggage shelf.

2007 Honda Civic FD2 Type-R

Listed as one of my must-have cars, is THE Civic Type-R. This design, 'R', is primarily fitted for race conditions, which means minimising the weight, maximising performance level (focused on tuning, suspension), bla bla bla. These were done with Civic Type-R predecessors, NSX and Integra. But Honda decided that since there were much promised dealings (and sales), they created a sedan. Released (and on the market) on March, 2007, the FD2 was sold as a four-door sedan (instead of the original 2-door). Since it is NOW a 4-door sedan, it's bigger and heavier (like duh~).

With 2.0 litre engine, 222hp is being produced at a peak torque of 6,100 rpm. This figure is not at all great though. The handling itself is 50% harder than previous Type-R's (NSX, Integra). The red bucket seats are not from Recaro, but built in-house by Honda (cheapskate!).

Since 2008, it has been given facelifts. Oh just minor changes. Don't get too excited now, the changes are only cosmetic. Performance ouput and engine are still exactly the friggin' same. More colour scheme ranges are added including the Premium Purple Pearl, Crystal Black Pearl (oooooohhhhhh~), and the Premium White Pearl apart from the other standard colours. Slight changes were also done to the rear lamp clusters.

BUT! According to MY inside source (from car journalists), Type-R is pretty darn hard to manoeuvre. My bet is, passengers at the back are going to need a full 2-day rest after a drive. It is indeed, not a good sign. So, my conclusion is, forget Civic Type-R (still can't get over this... sigh sigh sigh... sob sob sob...). Next choice, no no, not touring cars, but maybe the Civic 1.8 or 2.0 (depends on the world economy and my current financial state by early 30's - fingers crossed.. or maybe an Evo... duit maner nak carik???). A friend of mine told me to consider a beemer or a M-B. I told him, "Nah.. they are to prim and proper for a rough-racing chick like me."

Aston Martin V8 Vantage

Just finished watching the latest episode of 'Chuck': Chuck versus the Best Friend. So this Jack Yang (Grey's Anatomy, Cashmere Mafia) drove the Aston Martin V8 Vantage (image #1, a refined version in image #2) in said episode. With the new aluminium light-weight wheels, the driving experience takes the driver to another level. The V8 Vantage is embedded with a Jaguar-derived 4.3 litre quad-cam 32-valve V8 that develops 380bhp at 7000rpm. It's build with a dry sump form of lubrication to make the engine sits deeper in the bay and lowers the centre of gravity for better handling. Aston's boss said this is the best production yet out of the company. What not to agree? The interior is better than the Vanquish or DB9 by a mile. The sensual architecture, thetasteful aluminium accents, the hand-stiched leather seats are as best as the designers could be.

Class was from 12-1pm today and one question comes to mind: Where to eat? We've already bored of Sweets, Subaidah, and Family Heritage. Fast food?... Too unhealthy. So we (Sherin, Adelin, Anna, and Me) headed to Laksa Shacks located in Melaka Mall. Nasi Briyani Ayam Masak Merah, Lontong Johor (mesti from Johor gak budak nih.. ishk), and Asam Laksa were our choices for lunch. They certainly fill our empty tummy. But, I would rate my Nasi Briyani Ayam Masak Merah a 5/10. That will be the first and last time for me. 'Nuff said.

After that very-high-calorie meal, I told myself I need to burn more. 2-3 hours post-lunch, I started lifting weights in the gym, and spent 30 minutes on the what I call 'walkator'. One hour's up and it was time for my aerobics. Another 70 minutes spent here.

Result: Body aching like hell.

I just finished reading my latest issue of Discovery Channel Magazine and these images represents interesting articles.

Image #1: Detox Your Home - home plants are great candidates for counteracting organic pollutants in the air. Examples are golden pothos (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Epipremnum_aureum), philodendrons (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Philodendron), chrysanthemums, gerbera daisies (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Gerbera), areca palm (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Areca), corn plant, and Janet Craig dracaena (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Dracaena_deremensis). Oh, and another thing, keep your windows closed at night and in the early morning (when air pollution is usually at its worst).

Image #2: Herod's Triumph - King Herod of Judea is usually remembered for his biblical slaughter of innocent children, but he did some good stuff too. Like building one of the greatest man-made structures of its time - the enormous artificial harbour at Caesarea. It's the size of approximately 25 football pitches aged 2000 years old. Ruins are being preserved and constructed along with modern renovations.

Each camera costs approximately US$100,000.

A wet day

I was asking my mum yesterday night, "Me, lama tak buat fish head bee hoon ek?". She replied, "Ha.. mo? Mummy ada fish head tu ha.". I said, "Mo, for lunch la, tomorrow my class will be late in the afternoon." So, that was how I received the pleasure of savouring one of my favourite mum-cooked dishes: Fish Head Bee Hoon. Nyum nyum nyum.. An image to accompany this story.

And so, 45 minutes into my class, it started raining. Precisely at 5.45pm (MMU, Bukit Beruang). I had to use my innocent file to shelter my very valuable head (ehehehehe... =P). Got into the car, received a text message from Anna and she said, "Guess what? ........" I went, "What???!!! Ala.." It was a disspointment nevertheless, Anna said ........ (censored words.. hahahah) *beaming*.

On my way back, I was bored looking tunggu lampu isyarat yang forever 99 seconds tu at Pantai Hospital, so I decided to take a rainy, wet shot of King's hotel.

A trip to Neelas

Guess what? I saw a Civic freaking HYBRID!!! Thanks to Neelas, I spotted this Singapore plated car at a traffic light. I was right behind it, what can a girl ask for more.

As soon as I arrived at Neelas, I saw these advertisement on banners. It says, "Bantu Kami Mencapai RM 2, 500, 000 Untuk Pendidikan Cina" with alcohol bottles at the bottom. (Picture taken while waiting for 2 other friends to join for lunch.

And I forgot one thing: to snap a photo of my lunch. Banana leaf at Neelas. Anyhow, the curry was not as thick as my friends claimed to be. Other than that, it was a fine lunch. Perut kenyang hati senang. But I have to wait for at least 3-4 hours before I set my foot in the gym.
